One thing I learned, building a scale model; It is very important to ensure that the "mirror-imaging" of the side- and bottom panels is correct. A slip of the hobby knife in the model of lets say 1.5 mm is 1,5 cm in real and such a mistake will not be made with the big project that easy, but never the less.
