Clamping on the final layer of the clamp
At first I was going to use only a couple of clamps during the cure, but I was slightly short of filler.  I had planned a large gap to smooth the athwartship curve of the caprail.  So I squeezed a little tighter with a few more clamps, lost some intended gap, but had just a bit of epoxy filler ooze with plenty to spare for a strong bond.  As it turned out, the curve was still fine with no noticable pinched section.
