Keeping dry from Jeannes downpours
|
I was shaping the caprail while Jeanne's remnant was pouring down buckets of rain. After I finished the sanding, I covered the work, kept the lights on it to keep it warm and dry, and waited for the deluge to end. If wood gets damp while sanding, the soft wood swells and gets cuts during the sand. Then when it dries out, the harder sections stand proud as the softwood shrinks back down. Next day this rail was still fair. The lights and tent building cathedral allowed me to sand in such a storm of rain.
