CB Slot Cap - The goal is to have this vertical mount positioned perfectly

The idea now is to get this vertical part, for mounting the cap, perfectly lined up so that the cap will key into position perfectly. I hope the top of the case is perfectly level and the mating surface of the mount is also, but I don't know for sure. So, a procedure is devised so that I don't have to know, such that things self align perfectly.
