The cleats along the sides are for panels that make the boat a large camping platform. The extra thickness along the top was too strengthen the open slot area for the emergency daggerboard. The top doug fir will be left bright, though it does get much hotter in the sun. This jig was too hold it upright while curing on a windy day. The bright areas below will have additional structures once bonded in the boat.
