Scarfing Jig - In use
|
Just set your router depth to contact the board and drive around. Any wood projecting into the bit's path is removed. I used a little candle wax to help things along. To fully scarf the 1" board, I adjusted the router 3 times and the jig once. Less than 10 minutes total time to complete a joint. Once you rip the board to desired width, epoxy glue the joint together. I'll use this for shear clamp, spray rail, and coaming.
