Mast Step Upper laminate ready to bond

Before this is bonded to the base, all glassing and careful epoxy sealing of exposed wood in the bolt holes was done with this component as a separate unit. This made it much easier to seal the bolt hole wood without getting epoxy on the bronze nut threads. I let the structure cure inverted so epoxy did not run down into the threads. I used a pipe cleaner to get epoxy right up to the embedded nuts. Very easy with it not yet bonded to the boat! Now glassed for final prep before the forever bond to base.
