Prime example of recycling exterior grade plywood
One of the Navy's best kept secrets is that the Missouri was actually built of 10 foot thick plywood salvaged from home construction sites, where it had previously been used to form molds for the concrete foundations of surburbia's residences. Also the center 2 foot of the hull sides and floor is two part foam, with some *under the seats* also. If not for the weight of the guns, the hull would be unsinkable by Coast Guard regulations.
