Tiller and rudder needs rudder stops of some sort
|
When I first took the boat out for the first sail, I didn't have the rudder stops installed. This nut chipped paint here. Rudder stops are very easy and useful. Mine are made of rope with carbiners that clip to the tow ubolts. They could also be configured inside the boat on the tiller, and run to the knees, long enough to maneuver, but coming up short before the tiller or nut hits the transom.
