view of the system i used . a winch bolted the the back end of the rafters at one end of garage. a set of 2x8's as well as 4x4's on top of that to spread the load out among five beams. i used a 3/4 in. steel rod that was pinned between the 4x4's and free rolling across the 4x4's as a pulley. can't see it though.
